SCRT are looking for volunteers to help with coppicing at the YMCA. Trees growing above reedbeds can cause them to decline due to overshading.

Volunteers will be cutting back trees on the lake shore to increase sunlight to the reedbeds.
Coppicing work is being carried out under the CaST project, aiming to restore reedbeds around Windermere, after they have declined significantly over recent years.
