Two for One – Water Restoration Fund

SCRT have been successful in securing two Water Restoration Fund projects, funded by the UK Government. Windermere STEP – Stepping Up for Windermere Windermere Septic Tank Emptying Programme (STEP) will see SCRT lead a programme of delivery and engagement, with Lake District Foundation supporting on communications and impact monitoring. We say goodbye to our Trust Director

Pete Evoy, our Trust Director, has finally decided to hang up his wellies and retire from SCRT! Pete has worked for the Trust since 2010, where there were once only two members of staff employed by the Trust. Culverts be gone!

Not one but two culverts in the South Cumbria have been removed over the last couple of months. A culvert is defined as an enclosed artificial channel or pipe that is used to continue a watercourse under ground or a structure. Culverts can have a number of negative impacts on the environment, including loss of habitat and environmental features. Funding secured for school engagement in Barrow

Electrofishing season in full swing

Electrofishing season is well under way with SCRT carrying out lots of surveys across our five main catchment areas so far. In total this year, we have carried out 15 surveys, with more to come!
