SCRT are looking for volunteers to help build several leaky dam structures in the Upper Duddon valley. The dams will slow flows, acting as water stores and trapping sediment. As a result, water quality in the catchment is improved and the risk of flooding downstream is reduced. Leaky dams are a form of natural flood management (NFM). You can find out more about what this is and our NFM projects throughout the catchment here

We will meet at Troutal Farm, Seathwaite, Broughton-in-Furness LA20 6EF (W3W: ///create.clasping.clicker), at 10am.

The site will be wet so please bring suitable clothing and footwear. Appropriate PPE will be provided. As facilities and services are limited, please also bring food and water with you.
