We have asked the Freshwater Biological Association, in partnership with Natural England to carry out free Priority Habitats: Naturalness Assessment Training. This has been arranged for the Windemere Community Partnership and anyone who wants to understand more about river and lake function.
This training will allow you to see our local rivers and lakes a little differently, assessing their naturalness and how this impacts habitats.
The morning session will take you through the theory and in the afternoon we will get out an about, putting theory into practice.
The practical will include lake assessments as well as river assessments.
We only ask that you then put your new skills to the test assessing the local catchment and uploading your findings on the priority habitats website.
Location: Brathay Hall, Ambleside, LA22 0HP. Refreshments will be provided but we ask that you bring your own lunch.
Please see the training poster below for additional information. You can also visit https://priorityhabitats.org
If you would like to attend, please e-mail Rachael at admin@scrt.co.uk
