Windermere STEP – Stepping Up for Windermere

Windermere Septic Tank Emptying Programme (STEP) will see SCRT lead a programme of delivery and engagement, with Lake District Foundation supporting on communications and impact monitoring. SCRT will target four key areas, including Troutbeck, Far Sawrey, Esthwaite and Grasmere. We will offer free assessment and emptying to high risk properties. Lakes Biosecurity Priority Area – Don’t Pack a Pest

Lakes Biosecurity Priority Area is collaborative campaign with West Cumbria and Eden Rivers Trusts to develop and invasive species strategy for Cumbria. We will be attending events in the summer to engage lake users about invasives and gather feedback about permanent washdown stations. The lakes are under threat and need our help – we need to stop the spread of invasive species before it’s too late.
