Reedbed maintenance and brash bundles

Join us for some reedbed maintenance on 5th December in Ambleside.

On the day you will learn how to effectively coppice trees and create brash bundles. There may even be some time for weed maintenance too.

This is all for our Reed Revival project to restore four reedbed sites around lake Windermere, in partnership with Lake District Foundation.

We will provide the equipment required for the event, including gloves. As we will be working outside near the lake, the ground will be uneven and potentially boggy in places. Therefore, you will require wellies and waterproofs/warm clothing. Please also bring your own drinks/snacks.

Parking and public conveniences are available at the Lake District National Park Authority Waterhead car park – see pin below. We will be meeting in Borrans Park, next to the entrance to the Roman Fort. See pin below.

Please contact rachael@scrt.co.uk if you wish to attend and for any further information. Please note, this activity is weather dependent and lake levels may impact whether this activity goes ahead. If the event has to be postponed, the activity co-ordinator will contact you as soon as possible.
